Increasing demand for water usage, coupled with a reduced availability of water, has heightened the importance of this historically inexpensive natural resource. Purified cellulose products require significant volumes of water in their manufacture. Our ability to continue to do business depends on the availability of, and our access to, this natural resource. With that in mind, efficient water usage has been our focus for a long time. We have been an industry leader in developing innovative solutions to minimize water usage.
In fact, Buckeye has achieved a significant reduction in total water used daily during the past five years, and we are proud of this positive overall trend.
